Black: When buying your first suit, it’s generally a good idea to choose something that works for all occasions. Since black goes with everything, you can wear a black suit nearly anywhere. However, since black absorbs heat, a black suit can be a little oppressive during the Los Angeles summer.

Grey: If you want a suit that is a little more interesting yet still versatile, you should consider light and dark grey suits. In addition to being a bit more unique and modern, grey suits don’t absorb as much heat as black suits, making them much cooler.
Navy: If you’re the kind of man who prefers a little color, you can’t go wrong with a navy blue suit. Navy suits still have the dark, distinguished look of black suits, but with the added soothing quality of the color blue. When you buy a navy suit, you should also buy brown shoes to go with it.
Other Colors: While you can buy another color for your first suit, it’s generally not recommended.
